Vision

BHMM fosters cross-national exchanges among Afro-descendant cultures and establishes a network of collaboration and dialogue among Afro, Afro-descendant, Black, and African diasporas in Italy and globally.

Goals

Community Engagement and Representation

To encourage the empowerment of Afro voices, narratives, and leadership across various sectors. To enhance community interaction, dialogue, and collaboration to address issues affecting African-origin communities and create a narrative free from stereotypes.

Cultural
Appreciation

To promote the celebration of Afro art, music, literature, and expressions, facilitating cultural exchange and mutual understanding. To acknowledge the contributions, achievements, and resilience of individuals and communities of African origin throughout history.

Legacy and Future

Through an intersectional lens, to reflect on the impact of Afro-descendant peoples' history on contemporary society and envision a future that values diversity, inclusion, and equality in the interconnected experiences of all individuals, including gender, sexuality, disability, and social class.
